At some point between August 17-19, 2004, 30-year old Sharon Santos vanished from her Burbank apartment under chilling circumstances. Known for her zest for life and reliability, the senior financial analyst’s sudden disappearance alarmed family and friends. When Warner Bros., her employer, reported she hadn’t been to work in two days, her sister contacted the apartment manager, who found Sharon’s belongings intact in her unit. But Sharon was gone. Weeks later, on September 2, her body was discovered in the trunk of her abandoned car in Los Angeles’ Chinatown. She had been brutally assaulted and murdered.

More than two decades later, Sharon’s murder remains unsolved, a painful mystery that haunts her loved ones. Leads grew cold, and despite compelling circumstances that suggest foul play, no charges have been filed for her kidnap, assault and murder. Sharon’s case exemplifies the heartbreak of cold cases, where families are left to grapple with both unimaginable loss and unanswered questions.

Justice for Sharon Santos is a grassroots movement committed to seeking answers, justice, and accountability for Sharon Santos, whose 2004 murder remains unsolved. Sharon was vibrant, loving, and adventurous, a daughter, sister, and friend whose life and legacy continue to inspire our work.
Founded by Sharon’s family and friends, Justice for Sharon Santos brings together those who knew and loved Sharon, along with supporters who believe her case deserves answers. Our mission is to keep Sharon’s story visible, advocate for continued attention to her case, and pursue truth and accountability while honoring the life she lived.
Justice for Sharon Santos also became the foundation for The SHARE Initiative, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring victims of violent crime, supporting families seeking justice and healing, and helping build safer, more informed communities.
What began with Sharon has grown into a broader commitment to education, awareness, advocacy, prevention, and community engagement. Through SHARE, Sharon’s legacy helps inspire work that reaches beyond her individual case while she remains at the heart of why the organization began.
Our commitment through Justice for Sharon Santos remains clear: to ensure Sharon’s voice is heard, her legacy is remembered, and the pursuit of justice continues until answers and accountability are achieved.

SHARE stands for Support, Honor, Advocate, Raise Awareness, Engage, reflecting the core mission of amplifying her voice and pursuing justice. The name also holds a deeply personal connection, as “Shar” was the nickname many of Sharon’s friends affectionately used, ensuring her spirit remains at the heart of this initiative.
